Telecom Engineer by Technical University of Madrid - ETSIT. Executive MBA by the “Instituto de Empresa Business School”, Madrid (1992). Manufacturing Leadership Master by the “International University of Lucent Technologies” New Jersey (2000).

The Mr. Cano’s professional career has been linked with the Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Communications. He started his career at AT&T like product engineer (1989-1996). Also worked at Lucent Technologies like assistant manager of test engineering (1996-2001). He was working at member of the Telecom Media Networks like senior consultant and also was Deputy Director of Systems and Services at NetSpira Networks, (2002). He worked in the same position at Ericsson from june 2005 to august 2008. He was appointed General Manager of Operations at red.es, a state-owned company assigned to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce in order to promote the use of the information society in Spain. Since february 2011 is the General Manager of red.es.

In his capacity as General Manager of red.es he has, also, been appointed as:

• President of XBRL Association in Spain. Executive Vice-president of XBRL Europe.

• President of Confianza Online (Association which promotes in Internet and digital media, a quiet and secure use and navigation)

• Executive Vice-president of INTECO (National Institute for Communication Technologies).

• Executive Vice-president of CENATIC Foundation (National Centre for implementation of Information and Communications Technologies based on open source).

• Member of the Management Committee of the EOI (Industrial Organization School)

• Member of the Management Committee of FUNDETEC (Foundation for the IT development in companies and society).

• Member of the Advisory Council on Telecommunications and the Information Society: Group Information Society Services and manager of domain .es.
