José De la Peña

He studied Physics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Management Development Program (PDD) at the IESE Business School. He has been Director of Corporate Territorial Relations at Telefónica and has spent almost all his career in Telefónica de España and Telefónica Móviles, where he has been responsible in very different areas such as Technology, Strategy, Knowledge Management, Regulation and Institutional Relations.
He is currently Director of Education and Online Knowledge Management at Fundación Telefónica. In 2010, he created the cycle “Internet y las nuevas tecnologías crean nuevas profesiones (“The Internet and new technologies create new professions”), composed of 10 conferences whose aim was to provide a positive vision in these difficult times, analysing new opportunities in jobs offered by technological change.
He is very fond of Science and Technology History and is the author of the general knowledge book Historia de las Telecomunicaciones. Cuando todo empezó (2003).
