The new Citizen Portal offers two services; the first one is a government specialized search service, which indexes all of the contents within the *.gob.mx, the user searches using an anonymous profile and can refine the results using filters like images, videos and specific topics tags like health, economy, rural etc; the second service is a customizable homepage to which the user accesses by registering his digital signature. The customizable pate allows the citizen to use the electronic government services developed in gadget format under an open social networks standard. The portal fosters the government interoperability because it provides the agencies with a common API set to develop services and allows the sharing of citizen personal information (known as Digital Identity Registry), among these agencies.
