Semantic opinion analysis: lights and shadows
- Wednesday, November 23 2011
- Time: 10:15 - 11:00
- Room: T1
Automated analysis of opinions is a booming business from the spread of internet social media sites. To decide whether a mention has a positive, negative or neutral nature is a task that until now has only been carried out effectively by humnas. More and more semantic tools offered to automate this task. But trying a machine to apply methods, approaches and ever insights used by a person to judge an opinion is very complex. Bitext wants to show in this workshop what can be done now in this task, which tools can be used, and which difficulties one can face along the way (some of them already solved and others that still need to be left to humans' supervision)
