Computing and information technology represent the underlying machinery for the information Society where digital contents reach the maximum relevance and meaningfulness. However, technology professional are still mainly males not only in Spain but also in Europe and in many developed countries. Different factors seem to be the cause of this divorce between women and technical positions. In this debate panel, probable reasons which night have lead to this situation will be discussed with the presence of women who have reached the highest technical positions in very relevant companies and organizations. European initiatives aimed at promoting the necessary female presence in technology to guarantee a better development of information Society.
